cioplenu at Hackerkiste 2019
The Hackerkiste in Augsburg, Germany is conference, barcamp, and hackathon in one and took place on 28 and 29 September, hosted by Digitales Zentrum Schwaben (DZ.S), Web&Wine, theUniversity of Applied Sciences Augsburg, the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Augsburg and aitiRaum e.V. This year’s topics were Web, IT-Security and IoT.
Our fellow team member Severin Wünsch gave a spontaneous introductory lecture on the topic of Docker in an open barcamp session. “Six out of ten presentations in the session were about Docker, but nobody explained exactly what it was, so I took over this task,” reports Severin Wünsch.
Docker is a free software that simplifies the deployment of applications by making it easy to transport and install so-called containers, which contain all the necessary packages, as files. The containers ensure the separation and management of all resources used on a computer.
In addition to the barcamp session, cioplenu used the event to present itself with its own booth and to demonstrate application scenarios to visitors with the specially developed cioplenu software. Furthermore, the hacker box offered a good opportunity for exchange with other developers and exciting conversations with students from information science subjects.
